New Licences Come Under Mutual Recognition
The signing of the Mutual Recognition (Maritime and Other Occupations) Declaration 2009 has resulted in a number of new occupational licensed areas recognised as equivalent across Australia.
Twenty eight occupational licensed areas are listed in the schedules of the declaration. The occupations covered are in industries including maritime, building and construction, gaming, pest control and explosives.
All the relevant licence details have been added to the Licence Recognition website. The website allows a person to look up a licence entitlement in another jurisdiction, based on the licence currently held. The website also has information on who to contact to apply for a licence.
