Rationalisation and Consolidation of SkillsDMC Training Packages

SkillsDMC has a project underway to rationalise and consolidate all of the Training Packages under its coverage. This is one of the key initiatives of the Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST), as a result of the High Level Review of Training Packages. The project will deliver a Resources and Infrastructure Training Package that covers all of the 5 sectors under the SkillsDMC coverage – Civil Construction, Coal mining, Drilling, Metalliferous mining and Construction Materials (Extractive Industries).

The project commenced in July 2006 and is expected to be completed by Dec 2008.
