SkillsDMC engages with enterprises and key industry stakeholders to improve the workforce planning and development environment for the Resources and Infrastructure Industry covering the following sectors:

SkillsDMC's primary role is facilitating the education and training needs of all stakeholders operating in these industry sectors to meet the range of industry needs, and rigorous enough to satisfy educational and regulatory requirements across Australia.
SkillsDMC's main objective is to advance education and training for the resources and infrastructure industry and in doing so, identify generic and emerging skills to support the employability of individuals and provide for local community development. Further to this objective is for SkillsDMC to provide strategic advice to government on these issues. A critical element of this activity is the focus on assisting enterprises and their workforces to integrate skill development with business goals.
In supporting industry, SkillsDMC also focuses on the development, implementation and continuous improvement of high quality Training Package and support tools for industry to assess and prepare their workforce for current and future work productivity.

MISSION STATEMENT
Through engagement with industry, ensure the greater use of the Australian National Training System within an industry led arrangement where industry is recognised as the client. Through this engagement, SkillsDMC supports enterprises with skills development arrangements by acting as the honest broker in their interface with the training system and assisting in the development of business workforce planning and development. The success of SkillsDMC mission will be a flattening of peaks and troughs of skills needs through a proactive, industry-led Vocational Education and Training system.
