7/07/2010 - Warren Willson At Certificate II level (RII20509) the unit RIIQUA201A Maintain and monitor site quality standards can be replaced with RIIGOV201A Comply with site work systems/procedures (Coal). No such option is available at Certificate III level despite direct entry (qualifications no longer nested). RIIGOV201A would be a more appropriate unit at Certificate III level in the Coal sector since technicians and operators seldom have the direct responsibility implied by this Level IV unit of comptency. Such responsibilities, if they exist, can be adequately covered for those in supervisory or step-up supervisory roles by appropriate training in the associated non-technical skills of supervision, team leadership and quality management. |
